FluApalooza

Every year, you start to hear about more and more cases of the flu and the various strains of this virus. The flu and cold season lasts from October to February. Besides the typical symptoms of body aches, fever, and chills, being sick with the flu also affects our school and work attendance and adds unexpected medical expenses, creating challenges for our community.

At Southwest Key, we know health and wellness is important and flu vaccines are a challenge for those who do not have health insurance coverage.  That’s why we were ecstatic to partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for our first event providing free Flu vaccines to the East Austin community. Shots were offered by Randall’s Pharmacy and Austin Public Health.

We are grateful for our tenured partnerships with health-oriented organizations, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, with whom we’ve previously offered preventative health screenings and immunizations to adults in East Austin. We hope to see you at one of our future health and wellness community events.
