Domestic Violence Awareness
An act of domestic violence occurs every 15 seconds in the United States. It’s a destructive pattern that must be stopped as it affects victims in not only physical and emotional ways, but can also impact the education, career and economic future of survivors.

A group of Southwest Key staff members gather to display their purple ribbons in support of domestic violence awareness.
Domestic violence hurts millions each year and has a cascading effect on the next generation. Studies have shown that children who witness abuse as a child are twice as likely to abuse their own partners. Many of the youth and families we serve have been impacted by domestic violence and we understand just how traumatic these experiences can be.
That’s why more than 100 members for our Southwest Key Familia signed a pledge to speak up and work to stop domestic violence in our communities. To help raise awareness and highlight where people can go for help, we are partnering with the SAFE Alliance who are dedicated to ending violence through prevention, advocacy and comprehensive services for individuals, families, and communities that have been affected by abuse.
