Dr. Salvador Cavazos has over 20 years of experience working in Texas Public Schools. He has led the transformation of schools and school districts to be student-focused, data-driven and results-oriented, working with teams of professional educators to develop and cultivate solid educational programs to positively impact students in public schools.

Salvador has held professional positions in both rural and urban districts as a teacher, a middle and high school principal, and as a Superintendent. He currently serves as Superintendent of Schools for East Austin College Prep (EAPrep) as well as serving as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M Kingsville.

Prior to joining East Austin College Prep, Salvador was Superintendent of Schools for Alice ISD and Goose Creek CISD. He also served as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction in the Brownsville Independent School District. During his tenure at Brownsville ISD, the District became the recipient of the Broad Prize in Education, designating Brownsville ISD as the highest academic performing urban district in the United States.

Salvador earned his Ph.D. in Educational Administration (Public School Leadership) at the University of Texas at Austin. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English, and a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of Texas-Pan American.
