Cynthia Hinojosa began her career as a Parole Officer for the State of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she worked for five years. Following her career as a parole officer, Cynthia committed seven years to the Southwest Key Programs Familia where she served as a Clinician for La Esperanza Home for Boys and an Assistant Program Director for the Unaccompanied Minors Program. Mrs. Hinojosa currently serves as the Office Manager for the Law Office of Gilberto Hinojosa.
Mrs. Hinojosa is a very active member of her community and serves on the Board of Proyecto Juan Diego, is a member of the Community Development Corporation of Brownsville, and serves as the Cameron County Democratic Party Precinct Chair. She is also a member of the Catholic Daughters, Sacred Heart of Mary Court, and is a former Board Member of the Recovery Center. She is a past President of the Cameron County Democratic Women, was a Democratic Party National Delegate for Hillary Clinton in 2016, and a National Delegate for Joe Biden in 2020.
Mrs. Hinojosa graduated from the University of Texas Pan American, currently the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Guidance and Counseling. She is also licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.
Mrs. Hinojosa is married to Gilberto Hinojosa and together they have a blended family with five children (Gina, Xochitl, Miguel, Diego and Maya) and three grandchildren (Matteo, Pablo and Sebastian).
