Dr. José Velázquez serves as the Chief Strategic Partnerships Officer. He oversees organizational strategy and manages crucial departments, leading transformative growth and enriching communities served by Southwest Key Programs. He brings more than three decades of strategic leadership and program development experience, with a steadfast commitment to advancing social justice and fostering community empowerment.

Dr. Velázquez’s strategic roles at The National Council of La Raza (now UnidosUS) and Latino Memphis expanded networks, spearheaded advocacy efforts, and amplified the voice of Latino communities nationwide. Dr. Velázquez recently received a certification from the Harvard Business School in Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management, where he blends theoretical knowledge with practical executive leadership experience. Recognized as a top 40 Visionary by Leadership Memphis, his diverse experiences and unwavering commitment to diversity continue to drive substantial, lasting change.
